What documents will I need to collect my rental car?
Please be aware that to be able to drive a car in Greece you must have either an international license that accompanies your valid licence, or a valid European Union issued driving license. The law is very strict and you are unable to drive a car in Greece without one. Failure to have this document will result in you not being permitted to rent a car from us. To be eligible for vehicle rental you must present a valid driving licence for each registered driver. The driving licence must have been issued at least one year before the rental date. The minimum age for car rental is 21. We also require credit card details so we can take a security deposit.
Where can I collect the car upon arrival in Kythira?

If you are arriving at the port

A drakakis rent a car representative will be waiting to the left of the main port building, holding a sign with your name on it.

If you are arriving at the airport

One of our helpful team will be waiting for you at our office in the airport, which is situated next to the baggage carousel in the arrivals hall.

From our office in Livadi:

Please visit our office in Livadi, located at the entrance to Livadi coming from Chora, where we will be happy to assist you.

From Agia Pelagia:

One of our helpful team will deliver the car to your hotel in Agia Pelagia, where they will meet you at the reception desk to finalise the rental.

Other pickup locations on Kythira are available for a fee of 20 €.

Can i pick up and drop off my rental car anywhere on the island?

Provided that you give us enough notice, we are happy to deliver or collect your car from anywhere on the island. Please contact our office to arrange this.

Is it possible to extend the rental duration?
If you wish to extend your rental at any time, please let us know so that we can check that we have a car available for the required dates.
How can I cancel my reservation?
Should you wish to change or cancel your reservation, please contact our office and one of our helpful staff will assist you. Cancellation charges may apply, please check our Terms & Conditions for details.
What should I do if I require roadside assistance?

For the duration of your rental contract, we at drakakis rent-a-car are always by your side and ready to respond directly to your needs. Our experienced staff will be always available to help in the case of damage or vehicle problems.

In the unlikely event that your car breaks down, or you have an accident, please call us immediately and we will make the necessary arrangements. In most cases we will be able to reach you within 30 minutes, so you can rest assured that with drakakis rent-a-car you are in good hands.

How much fuel will my rental car be issued with?

All of our cars are usually issued with a full tank of fuel. If we are unable to do so, your car will be issued with no less than half a tank of fuel.

I have requested a baby/child seat for my rental car, will i definitely get one?
If you have ordered one baby/child seat we guarantee that you will receive it. Any additional seats that you have ordered are subject to availability.
How much deposit do I need to pay to secure my reservation?
In order to secure a reservation, an advance deposit of 25% of the total amount must be made.
How do I pay for my reservation?

Bookings made using our online booking system can be paid by Mastercard or Visa using the Eurobank-Livepay secure system
